Itineration - Summer 2011

i·tin·er·ate  :to journey; travel from place to place.

Well, that about sums it up!  This summer we returned to the States to travel from place to place, reconnecting with supporting churches, friends and family to tell the stories of what God has been doing in Guatemala.  Over the next months we will raise awareness, raise our spirits, raise our expectancy, and raise our budget for what the Lord has in store for us next.  For us, this itineration marks our 20th move in 19 years of marriage and ministry - 12 of them in the past 10 years as missionaries.  So, the word “home” is a little difficult for our family to define.  The question, “Where are you from?” always causes us to hesitate.  It seems that we have temporary “homes” all over the place.  Each place we have lived has been special to us for different reasons, and we have always found the direction of the Lord in each one and made so many wonderful memories along the way.  Our disjointed travels remind us that we are only pilgrims here, strangers in a strange land.   Not “here” in the US or “here” abroad.  But “here” on Earth.  One thing we maintain for certain; one day the Lord is going declare an end to the Harvest and call us to our true Home.  Until then we journey - and we harvest!  Where is the Lord leading you these days, and where does he have you harvesting?  He who calls is faithful and He also will do it.  We’ll see you along the way.
