Fall, 2011

6 weeks  -  6000 miles  -  30 connections
Ever notice the sound that asphalt makes under your tires is distinct from the sound concrete makes under your tires. Not so interesting. But it's one of the things that gets our attention as we cruise along the highways and byways throughout itineration travels. One of the more important sounds is that incredibly loud noise that erupts when your car gets over the edge of the white line. As you begin to get to the edge the sound begins to penetrate the "soundproof" barrier that is your car. It's soft at first, but it builds as you continue over the line to the point that you hear nothing else beside it. We've all been there - halfway off the road. Maybe distracted by the radio or a travel companion, or even by our own drowsiness. The sound may be startling or even scary but it isn't the problem. Rather it's a warning that a problem is about to happen. The reaction must be quick and firm. Bring that thing back between the lines!

Life lesson: There are usually signals that let us know we're too close to the edge. Make adjustments quickly because disaster is imminent. The Apostle Paul writes: Watch your life and doctrine closely. Persevere in them, because if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers. 1 Tim 4:16
The Holy Spirit should be able to penetrate the insulated, sound-proofed lives we lead with his still, small voice, drawing us back to the center of God's will for our lives. If we're listening.

We are so grateful for the opportunities that we've had over these past couple of months to be in many of your churches, and the privilege of standing before so many brothers and sisters in the Body of Christ. Thank you! Even as we shared our hearts with you then, we pray that the Spirit would bring us to your mind regularly. Thank you for your partnership in the gospel!  We still have $2000 in monthly pledges to raise. Please consider what you can do to stand with us over this next four year term as we aim ourselves toward Costa Rica! (Acct#254296)

Please pray with us that...
*God will continue to open doors of opportunity to share about the ministry in Guatemala, and cast a vision for what God has in store for us in Costa Rica.
*That we will be able to establish new friendships and partnerships, and fortify current ones.
*That we will be able to raise our budget, unhindered.
*For safety in travels and unity and health as a family.

Thanks!
